The Die"t" roller coaster

Yes, Diet is Die with a T at the end, LOL. Or at least that's always the way I've looked at it.

Well, since my slight weight gain from stress related to the day job, I've taken to eating a bit healthier, walking a little bit longer and enjoying standing push ups while in the office or kitchen.
I call them standing push-up because I'm standing, and lean against a wall, desk or counter and use it as the "floor" to push against. Not sure if that's what they're called, but hey, works for me.

While I'm not officially on the Weight Watchers diet, I've been grabbing meals and goodies that have the "all new points system" YAY. :-)

I'll keep the meals (I eat at lunch time only) under 300 calories and no more than 600 mg of sodium. I'll toss a small cup sized salad or fruit in the mix and that will fill me pretty well without feeling bloated or weighed down.

Breakfast I've been going between oatmeal (good for the cholesterol) and toast with peanut butter.

Dinner, well that's on as usual but in a moderate proportion from what I was eating, LOL.

And my dessert, I've found these bars from Weight Watchers.

They are like a sorbet. One's orange - reminds me of an orange creamsicle and the other is berry.
Can you say Yummy!! And the size is a great proportion, not small at all. I was really surprised the first time I opened and tasted one. Thinking..."really, this is a Weight Watchers product?" OK, This I can do!!

The only bad thing is...my 14 year old kept saying he wanted to try one. Now I put it off for as long as possible saying things like..."What's with you and wanting to eat my DIET food??" But alas to no safe harbor, he snagged one ;-p Now I have to buy him his own.

Thanks Weight Watchers for taking away my only goodie I thought no one in the house would want! You made it so tasty even the kid wants one. LOL

Happy Sunday All!!

I Don't Need A Pill To Turn Me On

I get infuriated by so-called sex research backed by Big Pharma because I know such "studies" are only curtains around the real push to sell expensive prescription drugs. I know because I've been on my share of prescription drugs before and they really didn't make me feel any better. Plus the side effects make them even worse.

I've never been on a sexually-oriented drug. I remember back when Viagra made the news that some women complained that now all these formerly limp men had the hard-ons they craved that soon "studies" would be done on women experiencing low sexual desire so that a magical pill could be made to make them more amenable to the Viagra-pumped men's newly found sexual prowess. Yup, that happened. You know what else happened? Those Viagra-pumped men did have lots more sex - with women other than their wives and girlfriends. Oops!

So now here's another study that has put the label on yet another disorder before even properly investigating it. This new disorder is "Female Sexual Dysfunction" (FSD). According to the linked article, "FSD is so new that the drug company itself has had to help work out what the condition actually is." Isn't that special? It's like the wolf guarding the hen house. Ever hear of conflict of interest?

What's interesting is that while the medical establishment might have been looking for treatment for male sexual problems in the years before Viagra, the side effect that later became Viagra was discovered by accident. Researchers working on heart drugs noticed the wonderful side effect of erect penises, and homed in on that side effect. Not soon after, we were introduced to the little blue pill. That kind of accident isn't behind the push from Big Pharma to make money from FDS. Drug companies are designing the drugs and then fitting a "disorder" around them in order to make sales.

Keep in mind that the only thing Viagra does is bring blood flow to the penis. It doesn't affect sexual desire. It's only meant for men who have difficulty obtaining and/or holding erections. It's designed to deal with a very specific physical disorder. FSD, on the other hand, is so all-encompassing and vague that any woman who is exhausted and not in the mood after long hours working and doing the bulk of the housekeeping and child care is deemed to have a medical condition if she gives her man the hairy eyeball when he slaps his dick against her thigh when they're in bed that night. So Big Pharma figures it has to create drugs to fix this "problem" so the men are happy.

One company is testing a pharmaceutical cream designed to enhance blood flow to a woman's genitals and boost their level of sexual arousal. Those kinds of creams already exist and you can buy them in sex toys stores. I have used one and reviewed it. It's not available at that site anymore. Here's the same product at Sextoy.com: Crazy Girl Naughty Nympho Sexual Arousal Cream. Why spend lots of money when you can get the same effect for only $6.80? These creams do work and they feel wonderful! And you don't have to be labeled with a medical disorder in order to use them! The problem is why would Big Pharma not look at the whys regarding women and sexual arousal? That's easy - because Big Pharma is in it to make a buck. The article stated that at the time drugs for male sexual dysfunction were already on the market, Big Pharma immediately homed in on finding similar problems in women to make even more money. It's like I said - now that some men have their sexual prowess back, it's time to make their women more amenable to their advances. And Big Pharma laughs all the way to the bank.

Rather than discuss how society and religion affect women's views of their sexuality, or look into women resentful that they continue to be stuck with the lioness's share of the housework and childcare even in this "equal post-feminist" (LOL) society, mismatched sex drives between partners which is more common than you think, and simply unsatisfying relationships, Big Pharma ignores women's concerns and instead looks at vague symptoms, all with the goal of coming up with yet another expensive pill to hoist on everyone.

And now, for my latest book:

Elizabeth Black continues her ribald Indiscretions series with Indiscretions: Vol. II. These two short stories follow the amorous adventures of Caryn as she wings her way across country to a writer’s convention. In THE MILE HIGH CLUB, Caryn has a high altitude fling with the sexy Jeremy. Their encounter isn’t without comic complications, but a very good time is had by all. The action continues in ROOM SERVICE, when Caryn and Jeremy meet a mutual friend and the sexual action is three-times hotter!

EXCERPT - THE MILE HIGH CLUB

"May I take this seat?"

She was startled out of her reverie by the most delicious man she had ever seen. Dark brown hair fell in the brightest blue eyes she had ever seen. The smile he gave her showed off deep dimples in each cheek. His dark grey suit and silk tie shouted money. The body encased in that suit had broad shoulders and what she strongly suspected were six-pack abs from workouts at a private gym. He was serious man-candy! His gaze moved from her face to her tits – exactly why she bought them in the first place.

"Of course. Would you like to share some champagne?"

He sat down. "I'd love some champagne.”

"Lovely, my name is Caryn. I'm on my way to California."

"I'm Jeremy. I'm heading to California, too. Business or pleasure?"

Oh, it'll be my business to pleasure you! "A little of both. Convention near San Diego."

"Same here. Are you staying at the Hotel Del Coronado?"

"Yes! That's where the convention is being held. Are you staying there, too?"

"I sure am. Talk about a small world," He looked her up and down, taking in her heart-shaped face and brand new tits in one swoop. He moved his arm to rest one hand on a shapely leg, just below her skirt's hem. "You're very sexy." His fingers pressed into the soft skin above her knee.

She moved her legs apart to give him greater access to her pussy, which was just starting to warm up. She wanted to feel his fingers against her clit, all the way up here in First Class 35,000 feet above the ground. Does that mean I’m part of the Mile High Club? And all this time she thought that was an urban legend. "You're very sexy, too. I love the dimples."

EXCERPT - ROOM SERVICE

"Takeshi!" She was so happy to see him she couldn't help but give him a bear hug, nearly lifting him off his feet. A lingering buss on the cheek hid the lust she felt for him. Although he did not express his passion towards her with the same fervor, she knew he was as aroused by her mere presence as she, judging by his quick intake of breath. Takeshi was an honorable and subtle man who exuded class. She turned to Jeremy. "Do you two know each other?"

"Yes," Jeremy said. "We met last year." Am I mistaken or do I see the hint-of-past-lover whimsy in their eyes? "It's good to see you again, Takeshi."

"Such a small world," Takeshi said. "I have a gift for you, Caryn." He held out a hardback book. "My first book, published this year by Harper Collins. I autographed it for you."

"Congratulations!" Caryn squealed as she took the book. "So you finally did it!"

"I knew you would get published," Jeremy said. "It was just a matter of time."

She wanted to spend more alone time with these two scrumptious men. Would they be up for a threesome? Both of them were clearly into her, she gazed at the two men – and into each other? "Let me put the book in my room. Please come in. I have wine if you'd like some."

"I never turn down free wine. Count me in!" The three of them entered Caryn's room which in her mind still smelled like sex. Sweat and a lingering scent of strawberry lube, a heady combination. She wondered if Takeshi would notice. He must have noticed something was up since she and Jeremy had left her room the moment Takeshi approached her. She poured wine into three plastic glasses and handed them out. If she was going to enjoy more dalliances she welcomed the relaxing mood a glass of wine would give her.

SQUEE! New Contract with Ellora's Cave!

So doing the Snoopy Dance! I just signed with Ellora's Cave for GHOST HUNTER , a full-length paranormal romance for their Blush line! My editor told me she got so caught up in it, she forgot she was reading a submission! I'm so excited! This book is one of my favorites! Is it okay to have a favorite when it's your own book?! LOL!

Here's the blurb!

Almost getting murdered by a serial killer gives Cassidy Kincaide a new lease on life and convinces her to go ahead and tackle that ghost-hunter novel she's always wanted to write. So, she hooks up with a gorgeous paranormal investigator named Trace McCord to do some research.

Cassidy and Trace rub each other the wrong way right from the beginning, but they have to put aside their differences when the serial killer who attacked her comes back from the grave to continue his string of grisly murders, with her at the top of his list.

Trace has to keep Cassidy close to keep her safe, and as they try to stay one step ahead of the ghost while figuring out how to stop it, he and Cassidy end up in each other’s arms. While Trace has a whole list of reasons why he shouldn’t get involved with her, he finds himself falling in love with the beautiful blonde anyway. And even though Cassidy started out thinking he was a jerk, she learns that underneath the rough ghost hunter exterior, he’s just the man she’s always been looking for. Now, all they have to do, is live long enough to be together.

For an excerpt and a look at my vision of the gorgeous ghost hunter himself, check out my website at http://www.paigetylertheauthor.com/ExcerptGhostHunterforHire.html

Animals Protecting Funny Stories

So I'm talking with my dad on the phone this morning and he mentions all the burglaries happening in his area.

Now he has 3 German Sheppard's who wouldn't let anyone onto the property never mind into the house they didn't know or was OK'd by him or my step-mom, which is good for the protection of my step-mom when he's away on business.

But of course we had to be us and come up with something my dad's always wanted to do ...

Put out a "Beware of cat" sign. Hehehehehe

Now it doesn't end there. We had to take it further. You see of course, the "cat" wouldn't be little tabby, it would of course be a black panther. Why, well just because :-)
So when the robber sees that and laughs, well the smile would be wiped off his face when he rounded the corner and met two glowing eyes in the dark and tabby would pounce *hard*.

Or how about...some people name their dog "bear"... OK sign... "Beware of Bear".
I would love to see a robbers face coming through the window to be met face to face with a bear.

Do you think that would teach people not to steal??

My grandfather who had been a farmer all his life had a black bear, someone dropped it off at the farm because they didn't want it anymore. ?? You know how some people are ?? Oh that's cute, let me raise it...OH my now it's to big and....here you have it, bye. As they run like hell in the other direction.
But of course my grandfather didn't need a bear to protect his farm, he had the dogs and the business end of a shot gun, but I'm telling you, the goose was the BEST alarm system he had. If anything, people or animal messed with his live stock or came close to the house at night, that goose let you know about it and wasn't afraid to attack. LOL.

You never laugh quite so hard as you do when you witness a door to door salesman running from a goose and scrambling into his car. (OK, I was a teenager and he deserved it. This guy wouldn't leave after I told him to go see my grandfather up on the pig hill, he just wanted to get past that locked screen door and in that house with me alone. Although I had the shot gun in hand, to which I made very clear, I'm glad that goose came by! Then my grandfather came down to the house, he sicked the goose on him again after I told my grandfather I had to get the gun for fear of my safety. Ya, the jerk never came back! )

I also remember my dad telling me of a story of how as teenagers he and his cousin saved a baby hawk after it had been hit by a car. They patched it up and would take it everywhere with them. It would sit on the backseat of the car (you know, those old boats LOL). Well, one day they went into a store and came out to hear the hawk screeching and watched as a kid jumped back from the open window. My dad said that the kid was walking by and looked in to see if it was real and when he did the hawk spread it's wings and screeched at him. LOL. My dad says it was the best car alarm he'd ever had and was sad and happy to see it fly away after it was mended.

Animals, you have to love'em!! Treat them right and they'll love you forever unconditionally. Of course I recommend never dealing with a wild animal unless you're licensed and properly trained to do so. Because even though they're cute...they are still wild and always have that instinct.

Happy Valentine's Day All!!

Saturday Soulful Quotes

Hello everyone and welcome to another addition of Saturday Soulful Quotes. Today, I have several great books I think you will like for this month's feature. So, grab a seat, pick up a pen and paper, and enjoy! Remember, these are all lines from authors unafraid of getting a little soulful, sappy, or even suggestive in their books.

Feel free to leave a comment and let me know which ones had struck a chord with you.
Happy Saturday!

He stared at her for a few seconds, then shook his head. "You know, I haven’t waited this long just to have a fling with a stranger." A smile tugged his mouth askew.

"You haven’t waited this long not to," she replied with the casual confidence of someone who knew the battle was already won.

Sarah Ballance, Run To You

"This is as far as we’re going tonight, but as long as you trust me and submit to me, it’s nowhere near as far as we will be going.”
Lauren Gallagher, Light Switch

There was hunger in Andrew's eyes, a primal need that mirrored my own, and I knew: If we went any farther with this, we were both going to tear each other to pieces.
L. A. Witt, Cover Me

“You are scared,” he murmured against her ear.

The warmth of his breath chilled her to the bone. “Aye.”

“You need not be. I may have been bold in approaching you and seizing your lips in a heated kiss, but I would never take you this way. There are some things I still hold dear. I will not give in to temptation, under any circumstances, no matter how impassioned the rest of me may seem.” He slipped his hands from beneath hers and gathered them, kissing the top of her knuckles. “I respect you far too much to take from you what is not mine. Only a husband has that right. And until then, you will never find me selfishly taking advantage of that blessed privilege.”
Renee Vincent, Mac Liam (Book 2 of the Emerald Isle Trilogy)

The Actor

By A.J. Llewellyn

As a writer, some weeks I'm flush, other times, I'm prostrate with worry about bills, so I take on part-time gigs when I can. Frankly, the experiences often end up in my books (The Vendetta, and Cops and Rubbers, for example) and it's all good.
My experience last week working for The Actor will also wind up in a book somewhere, somehow. For now, I'll keep it to this blog.
He called me out of the blue. He's such a big name I thought it was a joke until I heard how upset he was. He'd put some valuable books into storage and some guy firebombed the storage facility. The fire department hosed the joint down and The Actor's belongings were all badly water-damaged.
His call came as a referral from a literary agent friend and I started to realize it really was The Actor calling me. He sounded so distraught I agreed to meet him at his Hollywood Hills home and begin the process of cataloguing the books that needed to be replaced and pricing out replacements.
A fantastic job for me, the book lover.
I arrived bright and early the next day with my laptop and signed the confidentiality agreement. I was not to disclose who he was to anyone, I was not to post pictures anyplace of his home etc. etc.
His said residence is so high up in the Hollywood Hills he'd warned me to bring my lunch and coffee with me. I was kind of ecstatic to see he'd provided me with a bottle of spring water and a desk with a comfortable swivel chair.
I was good to go, except it all felt eerily quiet. And empty.
Other than the room we worked in, the rest of the house showed no signs of life. He'd been back east making a movie until the storage facility called him. He'd raced back for a few days to deal with the insurance company and all those books.
We started sorting through boxes and I began to feel worse and worse for him as I saw the valuable tomes damaged beyond repair.
A serious collector of art, he's a big Salvador Dali fan and had several irreplaceable hand-written books by the artist. Even a cookbook.
As each book came out of the wet boxes, he shared stories of how he came by them. I will, for the rest of my life value those little excursions down memory lane. I have never had such an enjoyable job. I like this man more than I can say. He's got a poet's soul, in spite of his mega-buck career.
I think I helped The Actor rediscover his treasures. He kept asking, "Why me? Why did this happen to me?" We realized replacing some of these volumes would be almost impossible.
I told him I thought it happened so he would spend time with those books again.
He gave me a long look and said, "Somebody else told me that this morning."
We powered through a long day and I never took a break, eating my sandwich as we worked. He was exhausted and fell asleep on the floor late in the evening.
I figured it was time to call it a day.
When I returned the next day, he'd arranged coffee and water for me and I thought that was sweet. We began working and he casually asked me, "I hear you're a writer. What kind of books do you write?"
I blew the subject off. He let it slide for about ten minutes then pulled a fold-out chair towards me and sat, fingers templed under his chin. He asked me again.
Again, I dithered.
Now he was intrigued. In a town where most writers can't wait to pitch their pet project to the first celebrity they see, I was being unusually reserved.
He pushed and pushed until I said, "I write romance novels. Gay erotic romance novels."
"Get outta here!" he said, nudging me. "What do you really write?"
I repeated what I'd said and he rushed to his own laptop to Google me.
"Jesus Christ!" he exploded. "Is this really you?"
"Yes," I said. I wondered if I was now out of a job.
"But I have to buy one of your books. Which one should I buy for my Kindle, A.J.?"
I was so surprised and so tickled, I suggested Fawnskin, since my partner, D.J. Manly co-wrote it. I couldn't wait to tell D.J. this story.
The actor bought and downloaded Fawnskin. He spent some time noodling around my website and seemed agog at my output.
Stealing Rain, another book written with D.J. had just been released as an audio book on Total-e-Bound that day.
"Do you know about the text to speech function on Kindle, A.J.?" he asked.
I shook my head, no.
"Here. I'll show you." He fiddled for a bit and next thing I heard was a man's robotic voice saying, "And then I sucked his cock."
"Oh, my God!" The actor looked shocked. The scene got raunchier. I wanted to die as he hurriedly tried to turn off the dialogue function.
"I can't believe you wrote that," he said.
"I can't believe you bought it," I shot back.
He kept staring at my books online on his laptop as I kept hunting through antiquarian booksellers for comparison prices for his books on my laptop.
The Actor kept asking me questions.
"I should play you in a movie," he said. "Say...I should play you and D.J. I could play you as twins. I've always wanted to play twins. Wait until I tell my wife about you!"
I laughed. He was so goofy and fun.
We opened a gigantic book he had of the artist H.R. Giger's Alien movie monster art to check on the damage and our afternoon got even more weird. Of all the books he had with mold and other water damage, this one had mounds of mold growing on its pages with little creatures running around.
"Eeew," he screamed, dropping it on the floor.
We got a good laugh out of that moment.
I had a small job for a few days, right out of a Hollywood movie with a man I will never forget. A man I will always remember with a smile.
A man who bought one of my books. And he told me via email, is actually reading and enjoying.
I'm sorry I had to finish that job, not that I wish him more damaged books, but this was a gift, the few days I spent with him. And sometimes, just sometimes, gifts happen.

Aloha oe,
A.J.

Trigger Points

Have you ever wondered why you’re angry? I mean, yes there are those times when someone just torques you off and it’s a mad spiral into furious expression of your emotions. That’s totally understandable and both the cause and outcome are predictable.
No, what I’m talking about is those wonderful subconscious triggers that you aren’t really aware of until another person points them out to you. It leaves you wondering what the heck is bothering you; why is it you can’t stand to be in a certain place, or around a certain person or persons. And you have to figure it out or the reaction builds and builds until it’s easier to avoid going places or being around people than to actually enjoy your life.
For me, my trigger was the romance section in bookstores. One particular bookstore had a profound response, but as I go back and think it over, any romance section in a bookstore could bum my high for the whole day. Since I am a published romance author, it seemed a bit ironic.
Until a friend of mine sat down with me and walked me through what was making me so angry. And it wasn’t really me that was angry. It was my muse; my inner writer.
And why was it angry?
Because I’d lied to it. I’d made promises that I hadn’t kept. Oh not big huge promises like: “I’m going to be a New York Times bestseller in the next three years”, or “The publishers in New York are going to have bidding wars over my books.”
Nope. Arrogant and egotistical as I can sometimes be, I know the challenges ahead of me as a writer. I’ve known them from the beginning when I first thought about writing for profit instead of just for fun. No, the big fat whopper of a lie that I told my inner writer was that I was going to work toward building my career so that my stories would be of interest to the print publishers -- hopefully those in New York -- and that I would begin looking for an agent to represent me.
It was all part of my five-year plan. The one I developed after I signed my name to my first electronic book contract. The five-year plan that is half-way completed since I was able to quit my day job to focus on writing full time. And that’s where I fell down on the job.
I didn’t reevaluate my five-year plan. Heck, I think I actually wrote a blog about creating a business plan and revisiting it often. No wonder my inner writer is pissy. No wonder she gets bent out of shape every time we walk into a bookstore and she sees all those books on the shelf and realizes that I’ve fallen down on the job. I’ve forgotten what the first goals were.
And I have my friend to thank for pointing the situation out to me. She even tested me on how well I’d absorbed the knowledge about my muse’s irritation on Sunday afternoon. While everyone else was preparing for the Super Bowl, she had me meet her at the one bookstore that elicits the most negative energy. I passed with flying colors, because not only did I not get angry, but used the time in the store to analyze which authors I would be competing with for shelf space in the genres in which I write.
So, my main goal for today or tomorrow is to sit down and reevaluate my five-year plan. Identify what my steps are and map out a design for meeting each of the goals and areas that will need to be revisited and how often.
If you have a passion you want to pursue as a career, don’t short-change yourself. Make a plan; stick to the plan; and always, ALWAYS reevaluate the goals in a timely manner.

GUEST AUTHOR - Kiki Howell!

And You Call This Work?

I have to admit that I have more fun in the name of research! I love go to the library and to search on Google and to spend hours in Borders…well, you get the idea. I tend to start my searches in non-fiction books, usually starting with books published by http://www.llewellyn.com/ on topics like spells, natural magick, crystals & gems, etc. Guess that shows I am a paranormal author first. I often find inspiration in a single spell only to soon find myself amidst a whirlwind of settings, conflicts and characters.

But, being an erotic romance author as well, I often stumble upon the best books for researching both genres, like Witch in the Bedroom, proven sensual magic, by Stacey Demarco. This book claiming to blend ‘down-to-earth relationship advice with proven magical techniques…your key to success in matters of the heart’ is fantastic, intriguing, a worthwhile real for anyone really. With chapters titled “Basic Framework for Raising Power Through Sex”…well you see where I am going with this. LOL Even a lay person can learn a thing or two about intimacy. Seriously though, the single spell called, Cutting the Cords, in this book was the basis for my entire novella, Rituals.

For my most recent release, my novel, Torn Asunder, I traveled far and wide for my research. I gently tiptoed through books on nocturnal witchcraft, braved old grimoires and even ventured through old articles from Regency England about black verses white magic. One article from the early eighteen hundreds in England told about a man accused of using black magic to close down other businesses in nearby towns and villages. I read in a book about people who believe that serial killers are actual shapeshifters who can’t change into their others forms so they emulate their characteristics. Fun, creepy, exciting, informative, but, you can see why my husband now refuses to pick up books for me at the library. And, why my boys roll their eyes every time I open a box of books ordered over the internet, well the ones I don’t have to sneak in and hide rather than put on the book shelves!

For the first time though, when writing Torn Asunder, the main spell of the novel I actually created by pulling from several different sources to get it to do what I wanted it to exactly. I used the basic foundation of elemental witchcraft to form a spell based on an old belief that witches could shift humans into animals in order to control them. Yes, that was a fun book too, eye-opening really. *giggles*

I just love reading that sets my imagination on fire, spinning wildly with possibilities. With an open mind about any book, no matter what the title or premise may be, or even how dusty the cover if you are in a used bookstore, work – research to be exact – can be quite entertaining. And, I am grateful everyday for my job! Research actually sent me on a trip to Salem, MA this summer. Next book to be purchased from my Amazon Wish List is Sexual Sorcery: A Complete Guide To Sex Magick by Jason Augustus Newcomb.

I hope you will enjoy my newest novel as much as I did researching and writing it. Fraught with scenes of explicit intimacy, romantic spells and mystical shapeshifting, Torn Asunder is a unique blending of the age of manners with sexual magic.

PARTING IS SUCH SWEET SORROW

When I finally get to the point where I write those longed for words ,THE END, there is a lot emotional baggage I have to dump. I spend a lot of time with my characters. I know them, I love them. I fall in love with my hero every damn time. This time was no exception. I love John Murphy, my wounded bad boy.

I should be finished with SWEET AS SIN. I should. I wrote the last chapter. I sold it. It went through edits and got a cover. It is available for sale. I can’t change a darn thing about it. But I can’t say good-bye. I’ve read it half a dozen times. I have to ask myself why and the answer is kind of scary.

I’m not ready to leave John.

Which goes to show how far I got into my heroine’s mind. Livvy’s mantra during the last half of the story is ‘I’m not leaving him, no matter what.’ Sadly, John’s mantra is the opposite and he does everything he can to get away from Livvy.

‘Parting is such sweet sorrow’ Shakespeare wrote. With John and Livvy it is more bittersweet. They hurt each other to the point where nothing can save them.
Well, except that thing called love. It conquers all, even two stubborn people tearing each other apart.

What have you done in the name of love?

SWEET AS SIN

She’s made for sin. Sin is something he knows intimately.

John Murphy is tormented by nightmares. A bestselling young-adult author, he writes the ultimate fantasy: stories where good always triumphs. He knows better. His past has shown him the worst in people—and in himself. When he moves next door to the sexy, vibrant Livvy—a woman completely unlike his usual one-night stands—he's driven to explore every curve of her delicious body.

Pastry chef Livvy knows that giving in to the temptation that is John Murphy won't lead to anything permanent, but she deserves a passionate summer fling. John discovers she's as sweet as the confections she bakes while Livvy slowly unravels his secrets. But what will happen when she uncovers them all?

DEAD SEXY is a REVIEWER TOP PICK at NOR!

I'm so excited! DEAD SEXY, my zombie romance from Ellora's Cave, is a Reviewer Top Pick at Night Owl Romance! Thanks, Julie!

"I picked up Dead Sexy because it sounded like a unique twist on how to incorporate zombies into a romance novel and I definitely was not disappointed. Ms. Tyler crafted a sexy romance that to my shock made the zombie aspect work really well.

The prologue set up the hero as a very unlikely hero but it just goes to show what extreme adversity will do to change a person. He went from a callous Wall Street type to a sensitive recluse. I found his new found career as an editorial consultant for romance novels very funny that worked beautifully with the plot.

The romance between Simone and Drake was far more than just sex. It had a sweet and charming element I often don't find in erotic romance. But don't take that the wrong way it is still smoking hot. Their first date was priceless and add on the fact he was worried about being a zombie made it all the more fun.

When the Voodoo priestess came after them the action outside the romance picked up and the rest of the book flew by. I thought Simone's reaction to finding out Drake's secret was dead on. I even tried to imagine what I would do in that situation.

Dead Sexy is everything you want in a paranormal romance. Action, plot, hot sex, great characters and a realistic romance you won't forget. I highly recommend this book and look forward to more by Ms. Tyler!"
