Sweet Tweets

Lately, I've been using Twitter more for entertainment and industry tips than promotion and blasting the events of my day to my followers. I'm curious how all of you use Twitter.

There are some people I follow just because they crack me up, and there are others who pass along stuff that is very good to know. Some of the ones I follow are real life friends, and others are fellow authors. But honestly the ones I seek out the most when I'm scrolling through my list of tweets are the ones who put a smile on my face (Jimmy Fallon, Blake Shelton, Ben Stiller, etc).

What about you? Who do you follow and why? Feel free to leave your twitter ID in the comments so we can follow you, too.

Mostly I follow author friends, a few authors I met through twitter. I think I only follow 4 RL friends. And I also follow people that are funny.

I like to think I have a nice balance of fun and educational. :)

My twitter is twitter.com/SaturnMoonie

I follow authors, publishers and readers...I hate that there is a limit on how many you can follow...

I'm not a big fan of Twitter. Most people I don't know do not respond to my tweets and I really try to be witty and topical and amusing etc. I am not discounting it for others, it's just not a very useful tool for me.

Sounds like we're on the same page SaturnMoonie. I'm following you now, btw. :)

I haven't reached my follow limit, Savannah, but I have a hard time keeping up with the tweets from the people I do follow. I know I miss some great stuff.

AJ, I understand where you're coming from. Some days I tweet just for fun. Often I don't tweet at all. Mostly I just read other tweets - like yours. :) I rarely reply though. I'm guessing there are a lot of people who do the same. You're probably bringing lots of smiles to faces who just don't take the time to type in a response.

Maybe after the nuttiness of summer is behind me, I'll try tweeting more.
