I Can't Write

I haven't been able to write for a while. And when I say that, I don't mean not at all. My problem seems to be that I can write openings for stories like crazy. I just can't seem to finish anything lately.

Does anyone else have that problem?

I have all these wonderful story lines and great openings and my critique partner has read them and thinks I'm a genius, lol, but I can't get past the opening. I've tried going back and forth between stories to mix it up so I don't get bored with any one story line. Nothing works.

Today I am going back to what I used to do when I first started writing. Listening to country western music. I'm more of a rock 'n' roll fan, but I discovered that country western music seemed to feed my muse when I first started writing. Funny, but I'd forgotten all about that. And really don't remember why I stopped listening to the music when I write.

Well, actually I do. My family doesn't want to listen to it and my desk is in an area in which they would have to listen as well. Looks like I'll only be able to listen while the kids are in school to keep the peace around here.

I do hope going back to my "roots", what worked for me when I first started writing works again. Wish me luck. My muse is hungry to get something down on paper,
