Overlooked Erogenous Zone

Ok, I admit it. I watched American Idol last night and the night before. I could lie and say I watched it because my son wanted to, but I'm just as drawn into it as he is. (AJ, this is not the same as those TV court shows! No, it's not!!)

I don't find it entertaining to see people humiliated in front of millions of viewers. I truly don't like that aspect of the show. Some of these people are barely teetering on the edge as it is. You can see it in their eyes. The last thing they need is to feel worse about themselves. I just pray they have good therapists.

I do love to hear people sing, though. What is it about a talented voice that can make the most average or even unattractive people hotter than the surface of Mercury? Are our eardrums an erogenous zone? Mine sure the hell are! Come on admit it, there's at least one average or below average looking rock star (or country star, in my case) you'd shuck your pants for in a heartbeat. You know you would! The voice makes him/her more attractive. It kind of puts you in a lust filled haze that blurs the imperfections. Like beer goggles. Only better. At least when you roll over and get a good look at them in the morning, you know they can sing. :)

When someone is easy to look at and can melt you with their voice, watching them perform is like winning the libido lottery. Woo Hooo. Go American Idol! Bring me another David Cook (who has miraculously gotten a lot better looking the more I've listened to him.)

So which crooners knock your socks off? Don't worry, if they're not beautiful, we'll understand. :)

Thanks, Dee. Simon seems to be mellowing a little, don't you think?

Sorry, I wouldn't know. I don't watch Idol. I was going by his interview on 60 Minutes. Talk about narcissistic.

I can't argue with you there. :)
