BLOGGING AND CONTESTS!
Well this proves it! We love dark, sexy creatures and stories where only the limitation of imagination stops us from experiencing our dreams! Way to go to you paranormal authors! I've been saying for months I wanted to write one. Guess I better start!
Thanks to all who participated in the poll. Your opinion COUNTS!
Now for today's subject matter. Blogging and Contests.

Not everyone enjoys blogging. I've heard numerous authors say they can never think of anything to post. It's just the opposite with me. I could blog all day long. lol I have seven different blogs. Yep, you heard me. Seven! But lately I'm not doing any of them justice.
I'm so far behind in blogging it's ridiculous. I've gotten bogged down in so many things, I've decided to delete three of my blogs. I simply don't have time anymore. I'd very much like to devote more time to writing.
As for blogging in general, I think it is amazing how you can simply post your thoughts on any subject and people stop by and read. It's also a great marketing tool if you work at it. But you have to really work at getting your hits up to the blog. And that means posting interesting and entertaining subject matter.
A great many authors use their blogs for posting book excerpts, and that's wonderful. I do the same. But in my humble opinion, I really think you need to mix it up a bit. Post a bit of personal insight to your life for instance or something you have experienced recently. How you feel about a certain subject.
And of course sex sells! I use a stat counter for my blogs and I can assure you that every time I post a sexy topic, the blog hits double and even triple. If you link to a blog carnival your hits can go up tremendously.
I'm still going to be posting on The Nice n' Naughty Blog each Monday, and occasionally to my MySpace Blog and website blog, but I have decided to join another author, Jade Twilight, and create a new blog.
Sharing a blog takes a bit of pressure off. You don't have all the responsibility for posting. Jade and I are going to create a schedule for posting. Right now we are trying to come up with a blog name, so we are running a contest.

NAME THAT BLOG! The winner receives a %5 gift certificate to the publisher of their choice if we choose the name they suggest for our blog. Deadline to enter is May 8. Now just so you know, this is going to be an erotic blog. We will be posting lots of sexy stuff! Sure we will throw in an excerpt or two here and there, but always sexy.
From me you can always expect a bit of commentary on the battle between the sexes. A new idea or two on how to stuff or something that just caught my eye. And some erotic poetry will be included as well. I write quite a bit of that. As for Jade? She likes toys. That woman is very talented too. She can tell you how to make a homemade vibrator!
So if you'd like to help us NAME THAT BLOG! just send either Jade or me an email.
jadetwilight13@gmail.com or tessmackall@gmail.com

"Today's knowledge of human potential, as well as results in success motivation studies, provide solid evidence, if not unquestionable proof, that it is our thinking; the thoughts that we put in our minds (and allow to stay there), that determines whether we succeed or fail in reaching specific goals or in the performance of the majority of the activities in which we participate daily.
Think one way, and you attract the conditions which that type of thinking indicates. Think another way, and you attract an entirely different set of conditions. MADDIE JAMES, Author, Speaker
I’m often asked—why write romance novels? And the answer to that question is simple. What better a subject to write about than developing relationships between two people? About the pitfalls along the way? About falling in love? About happily-ever-after?
What could be better?
I hope when you read my stories that you laugh a little, cry a little, and can’t wait to read a little bit more. That’s the way I feel when I write my stories. I laugh and cry and I can’t wait to get to the end so I can get my story told. That’s what keeps me writing!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ROMANCE GENRE?

Today I'm wondering what everyone likes. There are so many romance genre's to choose from it's kind of hard to pick just one, but I think we all have our tried and true favorites.
I decided to create a poll. You'll find it on the right hand side of this blog. I went to several different publishing sites in order to select the genre's to list. I must admit that the way genre's are listed can be a bit confusing. There are so many sub-genre's to choose from. For instance, you can have a paranormal historical, or a contemporary western.
So when you are voting in this poll try to think of the genre's listed as "straight contemporary" or "straight historical" or "straight paranormal". Now are you really confused? lol
The poll will close next Monday morning at 6 am EST. So there is plenty of time to vote. Spread the word. I think it will be interesting to see what everyone picks. And I'd really love it if you would leave a comment and tell everyone why you picked your particular genre as well. And you don't have to leave a comment in order to vote!
Don't forget tomorrow is Tasty Tuesday and Paige Tyler will be here with one of her Droolworthy Hunks! Are they getting hotter or what? lol

Writers conventions

The Romantic Times Convention is going on as we speak and obviously, I didn’t attend. I am seriously considering going next year and I am going to the Lori Foster, Readers & Writers Get Together in June. However, I’m not very comfortable at public events. I am much more comfortable in front of my computer than meeting and greeting face to face.
I know I’m not alone in this. I often hear other writers and people in general discussing this very thing. I’m wondering how many other writers/readers feel the same way.
So, how many of you have attended conventions? Why do you? Why don’t you?
Have a great weekend!

LET'S TALK BREASTS

As a writer, I’m constantly faced with new ways to describe body parts. After all, if we described it the same way every single time it could get rather boring. It’s a daunting task to say the least. I’m wondering today if romance readers ever look at one of our descriptions and say, “Huh?”
I know I’ve looked at a few and said that same exact thing.
I’m also wondering about descriptions for particular body parts. Of course, it’s easy to describe eye color and hair and “shapely legs”. But, it’s those parts men want to get their hands on that are more difficult. And vice versa of course. lol
I thought maybe I might do a “blog series” on body parts and their descriptions. And today I am starting with breasts. So I’ve got a list of descriptions~~some naughty~~some not so naughty.
Authors, tell me about some of the descriptions you’ve used and readers, tell me about some totally laughable ones or just point out the ones you like. Here it is…
What breasts can do for you!

First, here are some of the descriptions I’ve collected. Aroused peaks, warm heavy weight, swollen bounty, pale mound of fragrant flesh, ripe flesh, cache of flesh, sweetly curved mounds, soft ripe swells, plump mounds, pale orbs and all kinds of fruits! Lol They can also be creamy, burgeoning, sweet, silken, tantalizing, firm, and hard (yuk). More than that, they got moves too! They swell, jiggle, glisten, flush, burn, blush, ache, cry out, become pert and even perky, and of course tingle. They also constrict, look full and soft, throb, thrust, tighten, become taut, stiffen, wait, spill, heave, burst free, and of course dangle~~that is if you have anything to dangle. Lol
And what about those nipples? Hmmmm….Well we can say~~peaks, crests, tips, pebbled, nubs, taut pebbles, points, buds, bullets, rocks, and diamonds. They can be pink, rose colored, dark and inviting, warm, velvet, silken, proud, ripe and puckered. They can also strain, push, grow taut or tight, become rigid, tight, taut, tender, quiver, throb, thrust, pearl, sensitive, shimmer, glisten, surge, burgeon and swell.

And what can you do to them? You can suck, suckle, tease, brush, lick, bare, capture, caress, circle, scoop, rub, knead, fondle, cup, expose, crush, bite, nip, free, mold, press, kiss, and palm them.
And this list is of course just the tip of the iceberg or in this case breast! If you have anything to add to my list, I’d love to see it.
Stop by http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MidnightSeductions and join the Midnight Seductions Yahoo Group. And don’t forget tomorrow is Tasty Tuesday and Paige Tyler will post one of her hunks!

Writing Contests

How many writers enter writing contests and why?
Is it to polish your skills of the all mighty pen, or to help get your works noticed?
Writer’s Digest is holding their 77th annual competition, but as usual, I can’t seem to screech out a short story, because that’s the only length they accept for romance.
Nope, my writings are like my mouth, big
. I haven’t yet mastered the short story.A Slave’s Way Out was a contest win with WCPT, which led to my big break as an author. YAY *still waving hands wildly in the air*
I entered A Slave’s Way Out to help move my career along. I had two books out all ready, and thought it’d be a great idea to get in with a great company who’d been around for a while.
I have to be honest, I hated English and everything to do with it. I stink with grammar, punctuation, and all that good stuff, but I love to write. I have three dictionaries by my desk and spell check on the computer.
I’m glad WCPT saw through my errors and gave me a shot, as well as a GREAT editor!! *I bow to her*
So why do you enter writing contests or why don’t you?

High In the Sky

OK so there is about a week left before I have to get on an airplane and go down to the Romantic Times Book Lovers Convention.
I should be happy right?
For sure I'm happy to be going. I get to meet everyone I have talked to and had the chance to become friends with..I will be surrounded by amazing authors, friends, book lovers and publishers...It doesn't get any better...
So what's the problem?
I'm scared to fly...
Fear of flying....Aeorophobia, aviatophobia, aviophobia..
I have not been on an airplane in many many years and the last time I had the chance to fly...let's just say my life flashed before my eyes...
So what can you recommend for me and my flight?
I am already going to take my mp3 player and have my laptop with me to try to keep my mind off the flight but honestly as the day gets closer and closer..I'm more and more nervous.
Suggestions already made have been take some gravol or have a drink on the flight..LOL
I don't think that will help.....Plus with the amount of nervousness I am feeling I might end up one of those people who are flying high from too much drinking.....LOL
So any suggestions?
***************
On another note since RT is one week away that means that the 2008 Chasing Rt Video Tour is almost here..
Make sure to check it out......I will be posting more info on my yahoo loop that will lead you to where the videos are....Also there will be updates on the official site

CINDRA AND THE BOUNTY HUNTER is now in PRINT!

I'm thrilled to announce that my bestselling sci-fi erotic romance Cindra and the Bounty Hunter is now available in PRINT! And it's got a HOT new cover designed by the fantastic and very talented artist Rae Monet!
Beautiful Cindra Mallory is determined to become an interplanetary bounty hunter and has set her sights high for her first job. She tracks a major organized-crime figure halfway across the galaxy, only to run out of both leads and money. Facing the possibility of going home empty-handed, she decides to enlist the services of more-experienced bounty hunter Bladen Sloan. Unwilling to share the glory – or the bounty – with the ruggedly handsome Bladen, however, Cindra fabricates a convoluted story that has her posing as a jilted bride-to-be, with her bounty as the fiancé she needs Bladen to track down. But when Bladen discovers she has no money to pay him, he agrees to do the job only in return for some extremely special compensation.
Before she knows it, Cindra finds herself signing a contract that has her agreeing to provide ten sexual favors to Bladen in return for his services. How difficult can it be? she thinks. After all, the man certainly isn’t hard to look at. And besides, she can always skip out on the deal the moment they find her fugitive. However, things get complicated when she discovers that Bladen believes in spankings plus she not only enjoys being Bladen’s sex toy, but is starting to fall for him as well. But is there a way to tell Bladen the truth, get her bounty, and still keep the man she’s falling in love with?
Excerpt:
Bladen lifted his gaze to her face and found her regarding him expectantly. “While your offer is very tempting, Ms. Mallory, I can’t accept it.”
Her brow furrowed beneath her long, sexy bangs. “Why not?”
He gave her a small smile. “Because for one thing, it wouldn’t be very professional of me. And for another, I would feel like I was taking advantage of you.”
She blinked, obviously surprised by the words. But then her lips curved into a smile. “You wouldn’t be taking advantage of me, Mr. Sloan, I assure you. I know exactly what I’m offering you, and I’m willing to do whatever is necessary to retain your services.”
Bladen said nothing for a moment. Damn, she must want to find her ex-boyfriend bad. And since she obviously wasn’t going to let Bladen bow out of this gracefully, he was going to have to try a different approach. “Don’t take this the wrong way, Ms. Mallory. I find you very attractive, but I don’t think that a single night of sex would be a fair trade for ten-thousand credits worth of my services.”
While he’d been careful how he phrased the words, he could tell by the color rushing to her cheeks that he’d clearly offended Cindra Mallory. Then again, maybe that might be a good thing, he thought. If she was suitably insulted, maybe she’d storm out of his office in a huff and he could forget all about her very tempting offer. But instead, she simply lifted a brow.
“Then I’ll sleep with you more than once,” she said. “Is there a particular number you have in mind?”
Bladen had to fight to keep his jaw from dropping. Shit, that hadn’t gone like he thought it would. Cindra Mallory was seriously willing to sleep with him in exchange for his help. And the sultry look she was giving him right now was making his cock stand up and demand to be put in charge of the negotiations.
“I’d have no idea what the going rate would be,” he said. “But even if I give you the benefit of the doubt and say that a single night of lovemaking with you is worth a thousand credits, that would still mean you would owe me...”
“Ten nights of unbelievable passion,” she finished for him. “Deal!”
For the second time that night, Bladen stared at her in disbelief, stunned by what she had just agreed to. His cock however, was quite thrilled. “Let me make sure I understand this,” he said slowly. “In exchange for my services, you’re agreeing to provide me with ten sexual favors, of my design, and at the time of my choosing?”
“Yes, Mr. Sloan, that’s exactly what I’m agreeing to,” she told him.
What was she thinking, agreeing to sleep with Bladen Sloan ten times in exchange for his help? Cindra wondered. But she’d been so caught up in their sexy banter, not to mention mesmerized by his hypnotizing good looks, that the words had come out of her mouth before she even knew what she was saying. Was it too late to back out of it? she asked herself. But one look at the expression on the bounty hunter’s face told her that he considered it a done deal. Maybe she should tell him that she changed her mind, and then make a mad dash for the door.
But she didn’t. Instead, Cindra forced herself to take a deep, cleansing breath. Why was she freaking out? What difference did it really make if she agreed to sleep with Bladen Sloan once or ten times? It wasn’t like she was actually going to have sex with him anyway. She’d flirt and lead him on just like she planned, then when Sloan found DelCour for her, she would be off Pendari before she’d ever have to honor their agreement.
Behind his desk, Sloan inclined his head. “Then I’ll draw up a contract and we can make it official.”
Cindra frowned at that. She found it hard to believe he was actually going to put something like that into writing, but she said nothing as he dictated the terms of their agreement into the computer. Well, she could only hope he was just as thorough when it came to looking for DelCour, she thought wryly.
Once the contract was printed, the bounty hunter came around the desk and held it out for her signature. Quickly reading it, she saw that he had simply put their agreement into words. There was something about seeing it on paper that made her blush though, and her hand trembled a little as she signed it. It wasn’t as if the contract would hold up in any council of law in the galaxy anyway, she told herself. At least she didn’t think it would.
“So, what do we do first?” she asked, handing the signed contract back to him.
He set the contract on the desk, and then turned to give her a grin. “You.”
Cindra looked up at him in confusion. “Me?”
Taking her hand, he pulled her gently to her feet. She had known the bounty hunter was tall, but now that he was standing so close, she realized just how tall he really was. The top of her head didn’t even reach his chin.
“I think it would only be fair for me to get a partial payment up front, don’t you?” he said softly.
Her pulse quickened as she realized what the bounty hunter meant. He wanted to have sex with her. Right then! “Here?” she asked, looking around the office.
Bladen released her hand to lightly run the tips of his fingers up and down her bare arm. The touch sent the most delicious little shivers up and down her back. “Why not?”
His nearness was making it difficult to think. Or speak, for that matter. She hadn’t expected to have to make good on her side of the bargain quite this soon. “B-but anyone could walk in,” she stammered. Damn, he smelled good! Not like cologne either, she thought, just pure, unadulterated masculinity.
He reached behind him to press a button on his computer. A moment later, a lilting female voice confirmed that the doors had been locked and the office was now secure. “Not anymore,” he told her.
Cindra chewed on her lower lip, trying to come up with some excuse she could use to avoid having sex with him right that minute, but for some reason, nothing would come to mind. Maybe it was because she was flustered, she told herself. Then again, maybe it was because with Bladen standing so close to her, she was suddenly thinking that sex with him wasn’t necessarily something to be avoided. Before she could really decide if that was a good thing or not, the question became moot as Bladen lowered his head and covered her mouth with his.
