So a few weeks ago I went shopping with a friend. We stopped off at one of the large chain stores to look around...
We ended up checking out the clothes section and started to look for jackets.
I know jackets are not cheap especially winter jackets but what happened next really got me fired up...
We started to look at different sizes of the jackets and my friend started to look for her size. We noticed that the tag on the larger jacket had a higher price. I figured maybe I read wrong when I picked up one of the other sizes.
Nope not at all. The small jacket was 62.99 in price and a jacket that was one size larger was 89.99 in price. If you went up another size the price got higher. Do you think I was angry? You bet ya. I went to the clerk and asked her how come the price difference between the smaller size is so much....You want to know the answer I go..."I don't know"
I was really mad about this because it's not bad enough that a lot of stores don't carry larger sizes so that means you have to go to stores that do carry them but charge and arm and a leg.
I'm not a size zero and probably will never be but I hate it that when I walk into a store they carry only small sizes. Some places only go up to a size 6 or 8...What about the rest of the people.
People come in all different shapes and sizes and stores should cater to all people. Just because someone is a larger size it does not mean then should have to pay twice as much.
I can't tell you how many times I have walked in and right out of a store because when I asked for a certain size they looked at me like I was from Mars.
This is one of the reasons I don't enjoy shopping as much as I use to.
Have any of you ever had to deal with something like this before? What do you think about stores having higher prices for clothes that are larger in size?
Wishing you all a great weekend..

I'm sure they charge more because they use more materials and such but they do when going from an extra small to a small too. Hmmm, things that make you think!
I dunno...at Wal-Mart they sell jackets for less than 20 bucks, and I bought one from there that's lasted me five years. It was a down-stuffed parka jacket that I got for $15.
Why not try Wal-Mart? Their jackets are just as stylish, and they don't charge extra for sizes unless you go to an XL or XXL.
I understand that when you go to a larger size more material ge't used but the part that kills is that for one size up you pay 30-40 bucks more......
I quit shopping in stores. I always shop on-line for my clothes. Either clothes are made for teenagers or because you're a large size they think you are matronly. I also hate the styles and materials used. I like 100% cotton jeans (can't find them in stores). I also like to have winter weight jeans for winter because I have to wait for the bus (can't get them on-line either). Why do manufacturers think everyone wants what the manufacturers want to make? I don't want spandex in my clothes. Spandex makes clothes too form fitting and when a person is a large size they make you look fatter than you are. Also have you noticed have people wear clothes that are too small for them because the spandex stretches? That is for small women as well as large. Looks terrible. I used to work in a full figured clothing store and learned how to make clothes look good on me just by buying the right size and color. Also spandex is not a natural material. Well, enough of my ranting. I'll go on-line for my clothes and look for the specials they run. Also there is no restocking fee for returning an item.
