I'm A Gamer....

OK, so does anyone even remember what the above is? LOL....I'm not that old...OK, that is a Nintendo....The original game console that I grew up on....My has it been that long?

As a kid I remember playing this with my family. We all got into it..The best part was that my folks were amazing at playing the games. They would be the ones getting to high levels or passing the games....

For those of you who don't remember, the above is the Super Nintendo..That came after the Nintendo if I'm not mistaken...I remember when we got the console and the games..The graphics were better and there was so much choices...Yes I have the above two games...Played them many times...

When my sister and her hubby got themselves an XBox they game me their PlayStation. So that's how I got a hold of that console.

The first game I played on it was Tomb Raider. I remember how much more advanced this system became..It was something new and I loved playing it. As time went on and well I got older I found myself not having the time to play video games anymore. So everything went back to the basement and got boxed up. Last evening I got the biggest urge to get them back out again after many years. After plugging it all in and turning it on I honestly can say I felt like a kid again. It was fun and relaxing to get back into all the games. I started playing Resident Evil Nemesis. I'm a huge Resident Evil fan..Loved the movies and the games are just as good.

I know that one of the reasons I got back into playing games is because of all the new systems I keep hearing about. The games and consoles that are out now are so advanced and there is so much choice. It's not like the old days...

I have been thinking about getting a new console but honestly I'm not sure what to get and they are really expensive. It might be something that will have to wait.

I know that it will be a blast getting to play again and just relax. So I want to know, what systems are you playing? What's your fave video game?

Have you ever played or owned any of the systems above? Do you still own them and play them?

One funny thing to add is that they no longer make games for any of the systems above so if I want anything new I have to hunt on the web...LOL

OK I know I said one more thing...well just one more...

August 18, 2008 my book Bid For Love will be coming out from Lyrical Press.

Bid For Love

Her fantasy man is up for auction. Will Nico dare to bid?

Nico's history of romantic disasters has taught her when she gambles on men, she's fated to lose. That doesn't stop her from secretly lusting after Jeff, the handsome construction worker she sees every day on her way to work.

When the New York's Sexiest Bachelor auction begins and Jeff comes up on the block, she's seriously tempted to place a bid. The wager can't be taken lightly -- It might be for a good cause, but she's making a bid for love...

We had an original 8-bit NES console. I was the Tetris master! *LOL* Though my absolute favorite game of all time on it was Final Fantasy.

I had a boyfriend who owned a Super NES and on it I played Final Fantasy 2 until I practically lost feeling in my fingers. I also played FF Mystic Quest. It was cute but far easier than the others.

I briefly tried FF3 on the PS1 but had to give it back to the person I borrowed it from before I finished. I never played any of the others in the series until the MMORPG version came out.

I've been surrounded by gamer geeks it seems. Several ex-boyfriends and their friends all had game systems that I had access to:

Sega Genesis, 3DO, Dreamcast, Nintendo Gamecube, Xbox, PS2.

I got out of console gaming a few years ago and went to computer gaming.

I had a 6 year addiction to EverQuest that I barely recovered from before I became addicted to EverQuest2. I retired from that game a few months ago. I've thought about going back but my desktop computer was damaged when I moved and my laptop is too crappy to run the game. Until I can afford another desktop computer I'm out of luck.

I've had a lot of people tell me I should try World of Warcraft. Maybe if I decided to get back in go MMORPGs I might. I didn't do it before because I did not want to pay for another online game account.

I used to play Warcraft on the computer ages ago.

Yes, I am a geek. I freely admit it.

LOL... I remember Resident Evil games... The local Arcade guy dragged me over to the video machine and said, "You have got to try this!!!" and fed enough coins in it for me to have a ton of fun. *yeah, they knew me because I was always comming in and chatting a lot*

I never had a Nintendo or anything like that, I went to the arcade for my fun. Which brings me to my Modern Day addiction: Battletech. Yeah, they have what's called a Pod and you get into it, like you're getting into the cockpit of the Afterburn game.. only it's fully enclosed. Yep, congradulations, you just hopped into a 70 Ton 3 story tall, fighting machine that YOU control, that has enough weapons to make you the biggest baddest thing that stomped it's way through the scenery. :D

Trust me, very addicting and had given me a LOT of ammunition for new storylines.

Oh I almost forgot, for a while we had a PONG game. Yep Pong. Just Pong.

Blip... blip... blip... blip...

When I was in college I worked at some pizza restaurants that had game rooms. I spent a lot of my tip money in those damn machines. *LOL*

You've brought back a lot of memories with this blog post Savannah!

Tetris, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Starfox (oh what a big deal that was to one of my ex boyfriends), Duck Hunt...

I forgot about the funniest part of all. My mom got SOOOOO pissed at my sister for playing games and not doing her chores that she threatened to break the Nintendo. My sister didn't think she would actually do it and called her bluff. Big mistake.

At the time I was horrified but now in hindsight it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen - my mom jumping up and down on our old NES console, screaming at it.

*ROFL*

Growing up we had an atari and my cousin later had the nintendo. Does anyone remember Mike Tyson Punchout on Super Nintendo? Great stress reliever. After meeting my hubby we have always had systems. Now we have 2 kids and 4 gaming systems. 5 if you count the computer(WorldOfWarcraft anyone?) Wii, PS3, Xbox360, Nintendo DS and he wants a PSP for Christmas. Like Desiree my hubby was addicted to Everquest- I won't let him play that again it was almost the death of our relationship while I was pregnant with our first child. I am afraid that now I like games as much as he does. Can't get enough of them.

I should add that if it is technology related my hubby will have it. Tech is his drug of choice.Although with the PS3 we mostly got it because we wanted a blu ray player and the PS3 is about the same price with blu ray features, you can play games on it.

Yep, had atari years ago. Then when we had kids, then the doors to the gaming world flew open. Right now, we have PS2, PS3, 360, NES (the original one we bought for my oldest son when he was 4; yes, it's been 20 years),Wii, GB advance, and DS. Plus a ton of games.

I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy games. Also love the Jak series, Devil May Cry series, and the Tales series. All of them are role playing. I absolutely love the stories behind the games.

Love the blurb for 'Bid for Love'. Wishing you the best!

Every game and gaming system you can think of is in this house. Wii, X Box, Play Station, and then of course the hand held versions. lol

My 12 year old has been playing since he was a year and a half. And Mario is still his fave. He has every single title ever made that involves the appearance of Mario.

And he is a gaming master for sure.Adults call him and ask for advice. lol

Strange how he can be so brilliant and simply not want to do his math, yet he swears he is going to design games when he grows up.

I keep pushing math and computers study, he keeps telling me to buy the next game. When will it end? lol And where?

Hugs...
